The Best Views of Sydney’s New Years Eve Fireworks
New Year’s Eve is most likely one of the greatest days of the year to go out and celebrate, and just have fun, with parties everywhere and the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge’s completely bedazzling fireworks display. If you missed out on a good location this year, maybe it’s time to start scouting for new and better locations, especially if you’re a keen photographer. Afterall, Sydney is known to have one of the world’s best fireworks displays.
Popular venues
If you’re not afraid of huge crowds and congestion, and possibly waiting in line for half an hour just to go to the bathroom, then you will want a location closest to the Sydney Harbour Bridge, as that will be the main focus of the fireworks display. You will get the closest view of the entire harbour at locations such as Dawes Point, Campbells Cove, The Rocks, Mrs Macquarie’s Point, Blues Point Reserve, Barangaroo, and Bradfield Park at Milsons Point, Mary Booth Lookout, and all across Circular Quay. All of these are extremely popular locations for viewing the amazing Sydney New Years Eve fireworks. Keep in mind that a majority of these public places do not permit alcohol though.
Parting, dining and alcohol
If you’re more into parties, expensive dining and alcohol, be on the lookout for venues hosting New Year’s Eve parties. Popular locations include The Ivy, The Opera Bar, The Victoria Room, and much more. You might even consider Sydney’s popular H2O Water Taxis, which give you not only front row seats to the fireworks, but you’ll be enjoying a short cruise without the congestion of the parks, and BYO drinks are permitted.
9am fireworks
And for those of you who need to go home early, or perhaps your children are too tired to stay up till midnight, the Darling Harbour 9 o’clock fireworks might be more of your speed. A completely family-friendly location with amazing fireworks and highly rated restaurants all around Cockle Bay Wharf and the Harbourside Shopping Centre, you and your family will have an amazing time.
The most important thing of course, is to have fun and be safe; nothing worse than letting a little accident ruin the best night of the year right? So have fun, and look forward to next year’s New Year’s Eve. For more information, check out Sydney’s New Years Eve website for more ways you can celebrate the occasion.
